We want our communities to be safe places. But sometimes people use their homes for the wrong reasons - like criminal acts and drugs.
What should you do?
We understand you might feel too scared or threatened to speak to the people who’re causing the problem. Never put yourself at risk by confronting anyone.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. For non-emergencies, call 101.
Report it to us too by calling 0345 366 4404 or using our online form.
If you suspect drug dealing or drug use in or around one of our homes, you should also report it to the police via their website or on 101, or report it anonymously to Crimestoppers.
What will we do?
We take reports of criminal acts very seriously. We understand this can leave you feeling scared or anxious, but don’t worry - we’ll do everything we can to keep you safe. Anything you share with us will be kept confidential.
We may also need the help of other agencies, such as the police or the council, when criminal acts occur. If that happens, we’ll let you know what we’re doing and who we’re speaking to about the problem. Sometimes other agencies have powers they can use, or we can work together to stop the problem.
There’s lots we can do, depending on how serious the problem is, including:
- Ask you to use the ASB app or keep a diary to record evidence
- Issue verbal and written warnings
- Arrange mediation or restorative justice
- Fit extra security measures like CCTV, locks, and lights
- Provide CCTV equipment for your home
- Take legal action
- Work with the police or council for extra support
