Our place plans

Place plans!

What are place plans? Place Plans are our three-year plans for each area we work in across Yorkshire. They focus on action and real improvements to the things that matter most where you live.

Each plan is shaped by:

  • What you’ve told us through surveys and conversations
  • What our community teams see while out and about
  • Data and insights about your neighbourhood

Every neighbourhood is different, so every Place Plan is different too. Some areas need more focus on issues like anti‑social behaviour, while others might need improvements to shared and communal spaces.

Your Place Plan brings all of this together so we can:

  • Be more proactive
  • Spot issues earlier
  • Work more closely with local partners
  • Focus our time where it makes the biggest difference

And because things change, we’ll review each plan regularly to make sure we’re still focusing on what matters most to you and your neighbourhood.

Our Place commitment

You can expect us to:

  • Be out and about, making regular visits to your area to help keep it a great place to live.
  • Make sure you’ve got opportunities to shape the changes we make.
  • Use local knowledge - yours and ours - to guide our decisions and work with partners on bigger, long‑term issues.
  • Look for improvements we can make to communities and communal areas so more people can enjoy them.
  • Explore community‑based solutions to anti‑social behaviour and local problems.

Tenant Satisfaction Measures

Tenant Satisfaction Measures (TSMs) have been brought in by the Regulator of Social Housing. They're are a way of comparing how landlords across the country are performing and to make sure that good quality homes and services are being provided. It also means landlords and social housing providers like us can be held to account when they need to do better for their customers.

For us, we see it as an opportunity to build your feedback and experiences into making our services better. And to do that, we've taken a look at what people in your area are telling us.

Want to get involved?

We put our customers at the heart of everything we do. And we know the best way to improve our services is by listening to you. To do that properly, we need you on board to share your opinions and shape what we do.

If you’d like to get involved, just let us know through the ‘Ask a question’ option on the customer portal, and your Housing Officer will be in touch with details of the next inspection in your area. Or you can give us a call on 0345 366 4404.

Local walkabouts

As part of the role of our housing officers and our place plans, we’re spending more time out and about in our neighbourhoods, getting to know local areas and the people who live there. One way we do this is through regular local walkabouts. These give us the chance to look at what’s working well, spot anything that needs attention and talk with customers about what matters most in their area. We’ll send you an invitation a couple of weeks before each walkabout takes place.

You’ll usually see our colleagues out locally in Yorkshire Housing uniform, so keep an eye out and feel free to stop and say hello.

Be a customer champion

Get involved in your community, make a difference to where you live and gain valuable experience along the way. If you’d like to take part, let us know through the ‘Ask a question’ option on the customer portal or call us on 0345 366 4404.
